Lost City Of Ubar – Empty Quarter – Rub Al Khali (Full Day 8 Hours)

This adventurous 4×4 desert crossing begins in Salalah, driving across the rugged Dhofar mountain range with spectacular panoramic views over the Salalah plains, dotted with shrubs and woodland. As the landscape gradually changes from green hills to arid terrain, the journey leads to the legendary Lost City of Ubar, an important archaeological site and UNESCO World Heritage Site often linked to ancient caravan routes and the frankincense trade.

From Ubar, the tour continues deep into the vast dunes of the Rub’ al Khali (Empty Quarter), the largest continuous sand desert in the world. Here, guests experience thrilling dune driving and enjoy breathtaking views from the top of towering sand dunes stretching endlessly to the horizon. On the return journey to Salalah, the route passes through Wadi Dawkah, another UNESCO-listed site, famous for hosting the largest natural concentration of frankincense trees in the region, perfectly blending desert adventure with Oman’s rich cultural heritage.
